ANSART Puts 3D Visualization in Operators' Hands with New Simulator Object Editor

ANSART has introduced the 3D Object Editor for its Tower and Radar ATCO Simulator — a capability that, until now, was reserved for ANSART's own development team.


The Object Editor lets training organizations and ANSPs modify and extend the simulator's aerodrome visualization themselves, without raising a support ticket or waiting on a development cycle. Directly inside the simulator, users can:


  • Edit the existing airport environment to reflect real-world changes

  • Customize 3D objects and aircraft or ground vehicles models

  • Insert various models and 3D objects into the scene

  • Fine-tune the visual appearance of the simulated environment

  • Edit and create new aircraft liveries — including liveries for airlines not yet in the standard library


Why this matters


Visual fidelity is not cosmetic in ATC training — controllers learn to recognize aircraft types, ground vehicles, and airline liveries at a glance, and a simulator's environment is only as useful as its ability to match the real aerodrome and the real traffic mix a trainee will see on the job. Historically, keeping that environment current has meant going back to the simulator vendor for every new livery, every airport layout change, every added vehicle type — a dependency that slows training organizations down and adds cost for routine updates.


The 3D Object Editor removes that bottleneck. Training centers and ANSPs can now maintain their own visual database in-house: adding a new airline's livery when it starts operating at their airport, modeling a new de-icing truck, or updating the aerodrome model after a construction project — on their own schedule, without waiting on ANSART's roadmap.


It's a shift from a closed, vendor-maintained visual environment to an open, user-extensible one — giving operators direct control over how closely their simulator mirrors their real operational environment, and how quickly it can adapt as that environment changes.
