ANSART Successfully Completes and Hands Over Advanced ATC Simulator to MIRATS in Vietnam
Following successful Site Acceptance Testing and a four-week on-site training programme, the new integrated Ground, Tower and Approach training system has been formally handed over for operational use.
Da Nang, Vietnam, 30 October 2026. ANSART has successfully completed the delivery and acceptance of its advanced Middle Region Air Traffic Services Company (MIRATS) – Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM).
The final project milestone was reached on 30 October following four weeks of intensive on-site training. The Site Acceptance Tests were completed without observations, confirming the system’s compliance with the agreed functional and operational requirements. The simulator has now been formally accepted and handed over to MIRATS and VATM for operational use.

From Site Survey to Operational System
AThe handover concludes an intensive project journey that began with site surveys at seven airports across Central Vietnam in March 2026.
During these surveys, ANSART collected the aeronautical data, operational information and extensive visual reference material required to recreate each airport and its surrounding environment. This was followed by system engineering, development of the visual scenes and simulation databases, hardware and software integration, factory training and the successful completion of Factory Acceptance Testing in July.
The system was subsequently delivered to Da Nang, installed and commissioned on site, followed by operational and technical training and final acceptance.
In only eight months, the project progressed from field data collection to a fully installed, tested and operational ATC training centre.

A 360 Degree Environment That Photographs Cannot Fully Capture
At the heart of the solution is a full-scale 360 degree visual tower environment that provides controllers with a continuous panoramic view of the simulated aerodrome.
Photographs can demonstrate the scale of the installation, but they cannot fully convey the experience of standing inside it. The combination of panoramic visibility, depth, aircraft and vehicle movement, changing weather, visibility and lighting conditions creates a highly immersive environment for realistic controller training.

Seven Custom Built Visual Aerodrome Scenes
The simulator includes highly realistic scenes for Da Nang, Phu Bai, Chu Lai, Phu Cat, Pleiku, Tuy Hoa and Cam Ranh. Each scene was developed using project-specific data and visual references collected during the site surveys, allowing trainees to work within environments that closely reflect the airports and operational conditions of Central Vietnam.
Complete Ground, Tower and Approach Training
The simulator supports the complete ATC training cycle, bringing Ground, Tower and Approach operations together within one integrated environment.
Tower and radar simulation, voice communications, flight data processing and visual simulation operate as a unified system. The modular architecture makes it possible to expand the installation as future training requirements develop, including a straightforward path towards Area Control Centre training.
Delivered Capabilities:
Full-scale 360 degree tower visualisation
Integrated tower and radar simulation
Ground, Tower and Approach training
AI-driven speech recognition and pseudo-pilot automation
Electronic and paper flight strips
Integrated Voice Communication System functionality
Scenario and database preparation
Instructor, supervisor and pseudo-pilot working positions
Exercise recording, replay and debriefing
System monitoring, diagnostics, backup, software rollout and recovery tools

AI Driven Pseudo Pilot Automation
AI-driven pseudo-pilot automation interprets controller instructions and automates routine pilot responses. This supports consistent aircraft behaviour, more scalable high-traffic exercises and efficient use of training resources while allowing instructors to focus on the quality and objectives of each exercise.

Training and Operational Readiness
The four-week on-site programme combined theoretical instruction with extensive hands-on training on the operational system.
Participants worked through scenario preparation, exercise management, controller and pseudo-pilot functions, supervision, recording and debriefing, as well as technical administration, diagnostics and system maintenance. Completion of the programme ensures that MIRATS personnel are prepared to operate, administer and maintain the simulator independently.

“From the first site surveys in March to final acceptance today, this project demonstrates what can be achieved through strong engineering, close customer cooperation and a shared commitment to the result. The scale and realism of the 360 degree environment have to be experienced in person. We are proud to see the system entering operation and supporting the future of air traffic controller training in Vietnam.”
